Boeken zijn veelal bedoeld voor de eeuwigheid, om opgeborgen te worden in een kast zodat ze altijd bewaard kunnen blijven. Ze hebben de naam 'zwaar' en 'moeilijk' te zijn. Maar men kan ook anders naar een boek kijken. Boeken zijn speels en vergankelijk. Niet alleen is lezen voer voor de geest, lezen is ook leuk, spannend en licht.
Om deze andere kant van 'het boek' te benadrukken heb ik van eetbare materialen, boekobjecten gemaakt. Zo is er een boek bestaande uit gebreide fruitveters, een broodkrant, een boterhammenboek, in bladzijden gegoten ingrediënten van dalsoep, een lasagnaboek binnenste buiten en een spekboek.

Reading-matter
Books are often intended for eternity, to be put away in a bookcase so that they can be preserved forever. They are supposed to be 'heavy' and 'difficult'.
But one can also look at books in a different way. Books are playful and transitory. Reading is not only food for the mind, reading is also funny, exciting and light.
In order to accentuate this other side of books I made book-objects from edible materials. For exemple there is a book consisting of twisted fruitlace, a bread paper, a sandwich book, pages containing the ingredients of valley soup, a lasagna book inside out and a bacon book.

Torsione a Toffia
Per la preoccupazione che le antiche techniche tessilistanno scomparendo con il tempo l'artista ha realizzato l'opera: Texile in Nature. Questo lavoro e destinato a richiamare l'attenzione sul tema del testo e dell'intreccio, utilizzando materiali diversi, secondo le procedure care alla tradizione della land art. In Twist of Toffia: le pietre presentano i cicli e le trame di lavorazione a maglia.

Out of concern that old textile techniques will disappear I made this work: Textile in Nature. This work is meant to draw attention to this subject using different materials. Twist of Toffia: the stones presents the loops of knitting.
